Adelaide to Port Lincoln 2016
- February 01, 2016
Adelaide to Port Lincoln is seen as South Australia’s premier ocean racing event. The participating boats will leave Outer Harbour on Friday 19th February, cruisers at 10.00am and the racing fleets at about 3.00 pm, to compete in the 156 nautical mile race that will take them south west to Marion Reef at the foot of York Peninsula. From there the fleet will race along the foot to the spectacular Cape Spencer then North West past Wedge and Thistle Islands and Dangerous Reef to the warm welcome of Port Lincoln nestled on Boston Bay.
We here at YB Tracking are honoured to be tracking the race for yet another year. Each yacht will have one of our tracker installed onboard with it collecting and transmitting data every fifteen minutes through out the competition. All the data is sent through the Iridium network to YB HQ servers on the other side of the earth in a matter of seconds. The data is then visualised onto our race player so friends, family and race enthusiasts can follow the whole fleet or just an individual's progress with just a few clicks of a mouse.
