In what is probably one of the best Festivals of Sailing anywhere in the world, Newport as well as being the finishing destination of the Two Handed Transatlantic Race has been playing host to the AC45 World Series amongst other events.
Richard Palmer and Trevor Drew of Jangada Too were guests of the Americas Cup AC45 Organisation and were permitted to visit the team areas. As well as being able to view the catamarans, wing sails and the new extensions up close there was a unique meeting between them and a previous competitor.
At the Team Energy area, Loick Peyron, welcomed them to Newport. Loick not only has competed in the TWOSTAR coming second aboard Fujicolor in 1994, Loick is a two time winner of the Single Handed Transatlantic Race (1992 & 1994). Richard and Trev spent over ten minutes with Loick sharing their joint experiences.
In the Match Racing yesterday, despite some brave moves, Loick and Team Energy lost to Artemis Racing.
